To me, sleeping under canvas is sleeping in harmony with all the elements of nature, giving you the ultimate feeling of freedom and well being.
My first real glamping experience was in Portugal. I was asked by the owners of five Luxury Safari Tents, to style these for them with an authentic French bath and hotel quality finishing’s. I love my job 🙂
Once I arrived I was really excited about the idyllic spot. The campsite was completely remote with no WIFI or phone connection. We had to climb up a one kilometer hill in order to get one dash reception so we could reach out to the home front and our customers. A real nightmare for the internet addicts among us, but a perfect way to escape today’s busy world.
The tents were placed in a valley with a crystal clear stream and we had an amazing view from the tent. Once the project was finished we were invited to sleep in the glamping tents. And what an experience: a romantic four-posted bed, chandeliers, a cozy wood burner and a stunning view.
It was completely silent in the valley and we could hear the sounds of the birds, the wind whispering through the trees and the water running through the stream. And this was the moment I fell in love with “living and sleeping under canvas”. What an intense feeling. Till my husband began to snore… 😉
Every day I am still able to live my dream of designing and styling luxury safari tents and I hope to inspire other people to live and sleep under canvas, and experience the elements of nature with all the comforts of today!
