You can open the long side of the Glamtainer, using a hinge. The long door is used for the extra floor and the unique rail system, you need to slide out the extendable part of the Glamtainer. The part that gets “out of the box” is made out of double glazed windows and an insulated roof, all in a very strong watertight steel frame.
Opening and closing the Glamtainer Skylounge takes you 10 minutes, and can be done manually by one person.
As you can see on the floorplan the Glamtainer Skylounge has a complete bathroom, a kitchenette, and enough space for closets, bed and lounge area. The bed can be fold up to the wall, and then offers a integrated dining table. The lounge sit can consist out of a bed sofa, which makes it possible to even sleep two kids. Not on the floorplan, but possible, is to create a 14m2 lounge deck on top of the container.
Blinding’s and sunscreens can be made to your wishes and this way you can personalize your Glamtainer. It may be clear that the Glamtainer Skylounge can be used for more purposes than only a Hotelroom. It can be used as a pop-up store a granny flat or as temporary housing. For the Glamtainere Skylounge, the sky is the limit.
Like every shipping container the container part of the Glamtainer Skylounge is made of steel. Only the Skylounge is reinforced on all levels, and this makes it one of the strongest shipping containers ever.
Inside the walls are fixed to a light cage metal framing, after steel caged structure are first treated with fire retardant and highly insulating spray foam. The walls itself are made of fireproof gypsum boards. The finish can be choosen.
