The challenge
Ingenia Holidays Byron Bay wanted a safer, longer-lasting alternative to their existing bell tents. While the bell tents offered a rustic glamping feel, they were vulnerable in high winds, required ongoing maintenance, and didn’t provide the level of comfort today’s guests expect. The resort needed a cost-effective solution that would improve safety, reduce upkeep, and deliver a guest experience that felt both stylish and practical.
The approach
We introduced the Midi Safari Tent. A compact yet durable design built to withstand Australia’s harsh weather conditions. Featuring a lockable glass sliding door with fly screen and a spacious covered veranda complete with an outdoor merbau kitchen, the new tents provide both security and convenience.
Inside, our interior designer Annie created a fresh styling package inspired by Byron Bay’s relaxed vibe. By reusing the resort’s existing decks, we were able to keep sustainability front of mind, reduce construction costs, and streamline installation.
The results
The outcome is a smarter, safer, and more comfortable glamping option that outperforms traditional bell tents in durability and guest appeal.
The first guest reviews have already been glowing, highlighting the comfort, style, and improved experience. For Ingenia Holidays Byron Bay, the upgrade not only lowered maintenance and long-term costs, but also set a new standard for glamping in the region.
