At GlamXperience, we design glamping with one clear objective: to help operators future-proof their offering and outperform the market.
Our latest master project at BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park is a prime example of what happens when strong commercial intent meets considered design and precise execution.
This project involved the creation of a brand-new glamping precinct within the park, one that delivers a premium guest experience while remaining operationally scalable, and commercially viable. This is our second project for the BIG4 Gold coast. Back in 2023 we completed phase one – the installation of 2 large safari tents focused on a family interior layout with our line of rustic Nordic furniture.

The new Safari tents at BIG4 Gold Coast have been raised two metres above ground, a strategic design decision that immediately elevates the guest experience and more importantly the perceived value of the accommodation.

From a commercial perspective, this elevation delivers:
Increased privacy between units, Improved airflow and passive cooling, Enhanced outlooks and visual separation from traditional park accommodation & a stronger sense of exclusivity within the broader park offering.
The result is a product that feels distinctly premium, allowing operators to confidently position these tents at the top end of their accommodation mix.
Inside, each Safari tent offers a complete customised interior fit-out, combining curated pieces from Amuma Living with our latest in-house GlamXperience workshop furniture range.
Rather than relying on generic FF&E packages, this project demonstrates the value of tailored interiors in a competitive accommodation landscape. Our custom furniture and styling packages allow for Stronger brand alignment, Greater differentiation from neighbouring parks, Improved durability and lifecycle performance & a guest experience that feels intentional, not templated.
For operators, this means fewer compromises between design and practicality and a product that stands out in online listings, social media, and booking platforms.
Materiality was carefully selected to balance aesthetics with commercial performance. The interior palette centres around GlamXperience Honey & Walnut timber finishes, creating warmth and cohesion across the tents while maintaining consistency with the broader design. These finishes are paired alongside teak and rattan furniture, pieces chosen for their durability and timeless appeal.
Soft furnishings introduce a layered mix of colourful upholstery in a range of textures, we have chosen colours that tie in with the Big4’s bold branding personality & Queensland’s warm, bright & sunny feel.
The velvet textures introduce moments of richness, while the linens keep the spaces breathable and relaxed, an important balance for extended stays.
This material strategy ensures the interiors feel premium without becoming fragile or over-styled. Designed for High Performance, Not Just First Impressions.
While the visual outcome is striking, the success of this project lies in what’s beneath the surface. Every design decision was informed by real operational experience from furniture clearances and cleaning efficiency to durability under frequent guest turnover. These Safari tents are built to perform during peak holiday periods without compromising guest comfort or visual appeal. For operators, this means Reduced maintenance headaches, longer replacement cycles, Consistent presentation across seasons & stronger long-term return on investment.
The BIG4 Gold Coast glamping precinct is not a one-off concept it’s a scalable, repeatable model that demonstrates how glamping can be integrated into an existing park without disrupting operations or brand cohesion. By carefully positioning the glamping zone within the park, BIG4 Gold Coast has successfully expanded its accommodation mix while maintaining a clear hierarchy across product tiers.
This project reflects a broader shift within the outdoor accommodation sector: guests are no longer just booking a place to sleep; they’re booking an experience. Operators who invest in thoughtful design, elevated structures, and bespoke interiors are the ones capturing attention, commanding higher nightly rates, and driving repeat visitation.
We’re proud to have partnered with BIG4 Gold Coast on a project that sets a new benchmark for holiday-park glamping across Australia.
This is what happens when design, manufacturing, and commercial strategy work together and it’s exactly where GlamXperience thrives.
